Last Sunday, we worked on many things in our game : characters, stages, the context of the story and some other details.
Working with Scratch
Having defined the most important aspects of our game, we started to explore Scratch: how it works, we dive into some example applications, write some code, and start small activities with the most basic aspects of this environment of creative development.
Working with the Xo
Another activity that we did was the comparison of some activities done in Scratch both in a Pentium IV machine with Ubuntu and Sugar, and in our Xo. We did this to see the differences in performance, the idea is that our game work on all of these platforms.
Working with Gimp
As you can see in the picture above, we already have our characters drawn, now the girls have to work them into a program like Gimp, so we were experimenting a bit with this program with a great success. In about 45 minutes, the girls dominated most of the basic aspects of the program. So in the next meeting, we can work our characters and scenarios with Gimp without problems.
This tool, like the above (Scratch and Gimp), was very successful with the girls, who were delighted with all of these programs :-).
The next step is to have 40% of our recycling game ready.
